Herbert Morrison Technical High School
Who we are
We are a group of Engineers, willing to make a change by using our wits, determination and youth to make the switch into a way where learning takes place in a fun, orderly, organised and unexpected way. We provide the framework for future engineers to learn and develop various skills and disciplines, then put them to the test in the form of Projects which will reinforce the principles previously learnt and promote future growth.
The great things that we have made
Augmented Reality Sandbox
A hands-on sandbox exhibit combined with 3D visualization
technology created by members of the engineering club. Simply
mold or hover over the sand and the landscape will change.
The
sand is augmented in real-time with an elevation color map,
topographic contour lines and simulated water (lava, green
moss and snow are also available).
Herbie Go Kart
A small motorized vehicle used at Herbert Morrison in an attempt to teach the student population how to drive. Safety comes first so there is a remote kill switch used to prevent collisions.
Herbert Morrison Technical High Virtual Reality
A computer-generated simulation of a three-dimensional image Herbert Morrison environment that can be interacted with in a seemingly real or physical way by a person utilizing the application.
3D Printing and Laser Engraving
3D Printing - We use a 3D printer to create physical 3D models
of objects using a series of additives or layered development
frameworks, where layers are laid down in succession to create
a complete 3D object.
Laser Engraving - We us a Laser
Engraver to remove material with each pulse of the laser. The
depth of the marks is controlled by the number of times the
laser beam passes over the material.
We are looking forward to hear from you
